Businessmen in Schools
Businessmen in Schools Organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia and Business Innovation Programs Foundation – Norway, as a part of the BUSINESS BASE Accompanying Programme, THE YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP has been promoted. The project is realised with the financial support of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, based on the optional subject "Youth Enterprises" which has existed in the Norweigan secondary schools for 15 years.

At the Programme’s Promotion, Snezana Samardzic Markovic, Minister of Youth and Sports has reminded the audience that the Ministry has already started creating the national strategy for the young, covering the issue of
the employment of young people, as a part of economic development.

Serbia has the unemployment rate of 300 thousand young people or 44,83 percent, which, the fact not to be forgotten, are in a full work force and capable of bringing progress to this country. Another statistics data points out to the fact that among those who have the jobs, 80 percent are working for someone else, showing that there is neither incentive and entrepreneurship spirit, independent attitude in making decisions, nor taking the responsibility. The Youth Entrepreneurship is planned to bring the incentives, non-formal education and influence the youth activities, Snezana Samarzdic Markovic said.

The Norweigan partners have emphasized that the aim of this foundation is starting the jobs which are expected to influence the advance of the economic development. All the Project’s activities are based on the market economy and entrepreneurship attitude, the important segment being the effort to explain the young people the importance of the business strategy and business planning in different jobs. This practically means that the young will be provided with the necessary know-how and experience in starting and operating small companies, implying the new collaboration between schools and business world, as well.
