With a slight reminder that the Fair was organized at 13 thousand square meters, that the Guest of Honor Country was Italy and the topic of the 52nd International Book Fair "Dositej Obradovic and Education", the success is, perhaps, shown in the best way by the fact that there were more than 200 promotions, round table conferences and discussions and thousands of books were sold there. Many writers were at their publisher's stands and talked to the visitors, in addition to signing their books. Great attention was caused by many side events – "The Translator and Publisher Forum", "The School Day" and "A Streetcar Named Book". Already traditionally, the most successful publishers were rewarded.
Due to the great interest, the Book Fair was prolonged also this year for one day, in which the "delayed" visitors were enabled to visit this important event free of charge.
At the end of the 52nd International Belgrade Book Fair, the OPEN BOOK was festively signed. H. E. Mr. Alessandro Merola, the Ambassador of Italy, handed over this Book to H. E. Mr. Tadashi Nagai, the Ambassador of Japan, since his country will be the Guest of Honor Country at the Belgrade Book Fair next year. |
