In the last 30 years, the number of catastrophes has been increased several times worldwide, as well as the devastating effect they have on society and environment. The emergency situations, caused by natural disasters or human activities, take many human lives daily and destroy and degrade the environment in various ways, causing a great damage and losses. Our region is especially endangered by floods, drought, extreme heat, earthquakes, landslides and storms.
The Sector For Emergency Management Of The Ministry Of Interior Of The Republic Of Serbia attempts to create, maintain and advance the capacity of the whole nation to act as prevention against risks and respond to challenges and reduce the consequences of various catastrophes that may hit our region. In addition to the firemen / rescue staff, the Sector includes also the Departments for Prevention, Risk Management and Civil Protection, respectively. Great efforts are put into the organization improvement, human capacity strengthening and equipment supply, in order to rise safety and reduce the number of endangered individuals and financial damage. The basic objective of participation in the 38th International Emergency Management, Occupational Safety and Health Fair – 112 EXPO is promotion and operation featuring of the Sector for Emergency Management of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the emergency situation protection and rescue branches themselves. All this is of great importance, since catastrophes slow down the sustainable development of the entire society. There is a catastrophe risk in any society, but the catastrophe consequences may be considerably reduced if people are well informed and motivated by the culture of catastrophe prevention and resistance. The Sector For Emergency Management Of The Ministry Of Interior Of The Republic Of Serbia will be situated in the Belgrade Fair Hall 1 at several locations, at the stands 1112, 1114 and 1302. |
