International Commercial Vehicle Show Announced

Marking its 50th anniversary, the International Commercial Vehicle Show and Accompanying Equipment is taking place from 27 – 31 March in the Belgrade Fair Halls 1, 1a, 2 – Level A and 3. The oldest official international exhibition of commercial vehicles in this part of Europe will gather the world leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles, parts and equipment, with the participation of 155 exhibitors from 20 countries.

The Show will be featuring trucks, buses, delivery vans, trailers, semi-trailers, special superstructures and supporting equipment. This is an opportunity for business audience from the country and the region, to see the most comprehensive exhibition of widely used state-of-the-art commercial vehicles.

In addition to the manufacturers of large freight vehicles, BEOTRUCK will present the importers and distributors of the light commercial vehicles. The World leading producers of commercial vehicles will offer a number of premieres of vehicles, engines, trucks, buses and light commercial vehicles with the new performances and bodies.

Emphasizing an exceptional business cooperation with Belgrade Fair, Zoran Kijac, President of Board of the Association of Road Vehicle Manufacturers of Serbia, said at the Press Conference that BEOTRUCK is starting the season of the international commercial vehicle shows in this part of the world. According to the official calendar of OICA, only five fairs will be held this year, one of them being the forthcoming Belgrade Show. Domestic industry will be presented by FAP-Priboj and Zastava trucks – Kragujevac.

Importers and distributors of vehicles are faced with major problems and reduced sales by almost a double, said Zoran Lupsic, Project Manager:

“Only several years ago, in 2007 and 2008, some two thousand vehicles were sold on our market, while after this period the sales dropped down from 350 to 450 vehicles annually. In such situation the real help to exhibitors came only from Belgrade Fair and we have the pleasure to announce the holding of this event. I must point out that the state has shown disturbing indifference concerning economic events held at Belgrade Fair. This is a surprising fact since some of the fairs have long become the real brands of Belgrade and Serbia, attracting business visitors and tourists whose presence gives job opportunities to other sectors. And yet, in the time of global crisis, the state has not offered any concrete help.

In addition to an action-packed Accompanying Programme, Business Association of Road Vehicle Transporters “International Transport” is organising seminars covering the topics of road safety, use of digital tachographs and new legislation for cargo transport in the international transport.

The most successful exhibitors at the International Commercial Vehicle Show will be awarded with the traditional Grand Prix prizes in two categories - vehicles and supporting parts and equipment.

The Press Day is on Monday, 26th March when journalists will have an opportunity to visit the Show before the official opening and make contacts with organisers and exhibitors.
