The Memorial Tournament "Veselin Bošković" takes place also this year, on October 3 and 4, at Belgrade Fair. This ninth tournament, organized by the Chess Club "Veselin Bošković" and the Chess Association of Belgrade, starts on Friday, at 5.00 p. m., in the Hall 12. It takes place as a memory to the tragically deceased Veselin Bošković, a great chess fan, a friend of many chess players and a patron who was generously helping both chess organizations and individual players.

In addition to 20 grossmasters, another 250 competitors applied for their participation in the Tournament. Nine rounds are played by the Swiss system and a game pace of 30 minutes per a player and the prize fund amounts to EUR.4,750. In addition to the prizes for the 15 most successful participants, five special prizes will be awarded at the Memorial "Veselin Bošković", as well. EUR.50 will belong to the best ranked woman and the male and female young player not older than 20 years, as well as the most successful veteran, respectively. The best non-ranked player will get fourty Euros.
